Williams Lake Councillor nominated to be director at large with UBCM

Williams Lake Councillor Michael Moses has been nominated to be a Director at large for the Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM).

Moses was nominated by his peers, being Councillor Jazmyn Lyons and CRD Director Steve Forseth, and will look to take one of five spots available with six others in contention.

“What I’d be hoping to achieve through this position is to be able to provide a larger voice for our region, the Cariboo-Chilcotin, and specifically for both Williams Lake and for Indigenous people to be able to have larger representation in British Columbia.” says Moses.

Moses is already a Director at Large for the North Central Local Government Association (NCLGA), and he believes it can benefit his chances on getting elected, because of familiarity.

Councillor Sheila Boehm is also on the Board of Directors, which Moses hopes to do the region proud and join her on the board.

Elections for the position will begin in September at a UBCM convention, where various local politicians will make their vote.
