The Quesnel Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire over the long weekend.
Fire Chief Ron Richert said they got the call Sunday night (August 6) at 8:45 and responded with 16 fire fighters and 5 trucks.
He added that West Fraser Fire Department was also called out for mutual aid support.
“Crews quickly knocked down the fire but the home did suffer extensive damage. We did have some slight damage on adjacent buildings and the cause of the fire is under investigation.”
Richert said fire fighters were on scene for approximately 3 hours.
