A resident of 100 Mile House is giving the Okanagan a run for its money at wine making, and is gaining international acclaim in doing so.

Callie McHarg was named one of the top four winemakers in North America by Wine-Maker Magazine in their December issue.

There is no real secret to making great wine says McHarg who passes on a couple of tips learned from seven years of crafting award-winning wines:

Sterilize your equipment well, ensure that your room temperatures aren’t too high or too low because that will kill your yeast… and have fun!

The former U-Brew owner walked away with nine medals from a 2015 International Wine Making competition including silvers for her Merlot and a Toasted Caramel Port.

Something going on in the Cariboo you think people should know about?
