Teepee And Pelican Lake Fires Listed As Being Held

There are no longer any wildfires of note in the Quesnel Fire Zone.

Fire Information Officer Madison Dahl said both the Teepee Lake fire in the Nazko region and Pelican fire 6 kilometres east of Titetown are listed as being held.

“Crews continue to mop up and patrol, again utilizing drone technology just to be better pinpoint the hot spots that are within the perimeter. We will continue to be using the drones to scan both of those fires and continue to have ground crews on site just to maintain and support mop up and patrol.”

The Burgess Creek Wildfire North of Gibraltar Mines continues to be in the being held status.

“Wildfire crews have patrolled 90 percent of the fire up to 100 feet in from the perimeter. So today’s objectives are just to continue mop up and patrol of the fire. We do have about 35 personnel on site on the ground on that fire.”

Dahl reminds the public that all open fires including category 1 campfires continue to be prohibited throughout the Cariboo Fire Fire Centre.
