Williams Lake officially kicked off the weekend festivities today

Even though the Williams Lake Stampede has already begun, the activities are just getting started.

Earlier this morning, the Stampede Parade went through downtown Williams Lake, which was marshaled by Rick Hansen accompanied by Don Alder, Williams Lake Council, and Williams Lake First Nations Chief Willie Sellars.

The Stampede Parade will also be followed by a Summer Street Fest from 10:00am until 2:00pm on 2nd Avenue between Borland Street & Sandtronics.

There will also be Canada Day activities out at Kiwanis Park, which will have various activities such as bouncy castles, lawn games, and more for families to enjoy.

That event will run from 2:00pm until 5:00pm.

There are also category 2 and 3 fire prohibition in place for the Cariboo Fire Centre, which restricts Fireworks, sky lanterns, tiki torches, and more.

More information can be found at the Cariboo Memorial Recreational Complex here.
