The Museum of the Cariboo Chilcotin held their Rick Hansen memorabilia display opening.
The event started with Don Alder giving a performance, with Mayor Surinderpal Rathor giving a speech welcoming Rick Hansen after.
It was from there where Hansen spoke about his journey, and returning home.
“I’ve had friends, family, community, mentors, people who’ve inspired me on every step of the way, and they’ve gone far beyond what I could’ve imagined and done myself,” says Hansen.
“and coming back to this City, I am so proud, I’m so inspired, and honoured and grateful.”
Tomorrow, July 1st, Hansen will be the parade marshal for the Stampede Parade.
