Williams Lake Fire Department On Scene Of An Early Morning Structure Fire

The Williams Lake Fire Department had an early start to their day.

Just after 2 this morning (June 21) Fire Chief Evan Dean says they responded to reports of a structure fire on Murray Drive.

“RCMP was on scene first and they noticed a fire in the back corner of the building. They were actually able to put a fire extinguisher on it and our crews were able to make entry and extinguish the fire. The fire was contained to the room of origin.”

Dean said in total 23 fire fighters, 3 apparatuses, and 2 command vehicles responded and they were on scene for an hour and then another hour of cleanup.

At this time the cause of the fire is still under investigation but Dean said they don’t suspect any kind of foul play.
