Evacuation order issued for three parcels near Tzenzaicut Lake

The Cariboo Regional District has issued an Evacuation Order for three parcels in the Tzenzaicut Lake Fire Area, southwest of Quesnel.

The Tzenzaicut Lake Wildfire is listed as out of control on the BC Wildfire Service Map and is estimated to be 44 hectares.

At this time it’s believed the fire was caused by lightning.

There are 89 active wildfires in the Province, including 17 in the Cariboo Fire Centre.

The Pelican Lake Wildfire remains the only Wildfire of Note within the Cariboo Fire Centre.

As of 7:50 this morning (Sunday), the fire was estimated to be 160 hectares.

Officials say the fire showed no growth yesterday, and that crews successfully worked to establish a wetline on the east flank of the fire.
