There will be an increased police presence on the roads starting tonight as the RCMP start their annual holiday road checks in hopes of encouraging safer driving practices.
Corporal Clint Lange with the 100Â Mile House detachment explains:
“We’ve started to ramp up impaired driving check stops. From now through the holidays we’re going to be having check points at various places throughout the region. The goal is to eliminate impaired driving and ensure that everyone gets home safe.”Â
Lange encourages holiday revelers to plan ahead and ensure that they have a designated driver at their disposal.
