Williams Lake will have a larger voice with NCLGA

Williams Lake Councillors Sheila Boehm and Michael Moses will have new roles in the North Central Local Government Association (NCLGA).

Boehm was elected as the NCLGA President, with Moses assuming the role as Director at Large.

“We’re going to have twice as many votes as if Sheila were in there by herself.” says Moses.

“I’ll be able to provide her some support, and I’m sure vice versa, in making sure that issues that are affecting Williams Lake or our whole region will more likely be heard, and hopefully more likely something can be done about them.”

Moses added that it’s quite the honour for himself, especially as a first year Councillor, to have an opportunity to represent the region.

As for the plan with the new role, Moses along with other members, are hoping to get the ball rolling in having the association include more First Nation bands and governments.

More information about the NCLGA can be found on their website here.
