William Stevens will be taking the salute during the Quesnel Legion’s marchpast.
Stevens, is 100 years old and 6 months starting today, and is the oldest surviving member of the Canadian Scottish Regiment of Canada.
“He’s an awesome man. He has stories that he could tell you from when he was little, right on up, and he’s got his full mind.” says Maureen Boerboom, William Stevens daughter.
Boerboom adds that her father will also be going into the Victoria War Museum.
The Quesnel Legion will be having a regular Remembrance Day ceremony, where Stevens along with other veterans (Ron Rosell, Tom Mohan, and Bob Kittle) will be saluting as the parade goes by.
For Williams Lake, there will be a service at 10am at the Gibralter Room, with a March to the Cenotaph and 2 minutes of silence at 11am. After that, there will be the laying of the wreaths, and a march to the Legion.
100 Mile House, there will be a Remembrance Day Ceremony and Parade at the cenotaph, with an 11am call to attention.
