Ministry of Environment Reports Bear Numbers for 2015

The Ministry of Environment has released statistics for bear season in the Cariboo-Chilcotin region and the numbers are striking.

There was a 15.2 percent jump in the number of reports in 2015, with a 23 percent hike in calls requiring attending, and a more than 21 percent jump in the number of bears destroyed.

The conservation service, alone, was forced to destroy 42 black bears this season – an increase of more than 28 percent.

Something going on in the Cariboo you think people should know about?
