Remembrance day is celebrated on the 11th day of the 11th month at the 11th hour.
Adults know that, but what do our children think Remembrance day is?
Kindergarten to Grade 8 Students at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Williams Lake were asked that very question.
The children were also asked about why we wear poppies and the answers ranged from a kindergartner who said because they look beautiful to a fourth grader who said it was to help the families of soldiers who died.
Remembrance Day services are scheduled to take place across the Cariboo including:
- Williams Lake –Â Remembrance Day Ceremony starts at 10Â am in the Gibraltar Room with a parade to follow with 2 minutes of silence at the Cenotaph
- Quesnel: Parade starting at 10:40 am at the Legion followed by laying of the wreath. Service at the United Church at 12 pm
- 100 Mile House. -A parade will depart from the Red Coach Inn at 10:15 am and travel down Birch Avenue to the 100 Mile Community Hall, for the ceremony starting at 10:55 am
