Quesnel Seniors Housing Complex Proposal Goes Before Council

A 30-unit seniors affordable housing project in Quesnel continues to make it’s way through the steps.

City Council has passed a resolution for staff to prepare a draft of proposed amendments to the Official Community Plan and it’s Zoning Bylaw.

Tanya Turner, the Director of Development Services, says the 30 units are more than what is currently allowed and the Lions Club is also looking for some relaxation on the coverage of the site and from the normal parking requirements.

She says staff will now bring back a draft to Council for first reading.

Turner says a public consultation process is then required prior to 2nd reading.

The proposed development would be built at the corner of Reid Street and Mcnaughton Avenue.
