The 100 Mile House Wranglers will get some reinforcements ahead of a tough stretch in the schedule.
Shawn Rowe is a big addition on the blue line says Coach Dale Hladun who is excited by what the Albertan brings to the table:
“We had to add some defense. So I’ve got a fella named Shawn Rowe. He’s a big 6’5″ kid from Red Deer who started the season with Beaver Valley. He’s a real physical kid – quite coach-able, like a real good kid. I’m happy to have him on our roster.”
The eighteen year old gargantuan defender had 2 points in 6Â games with Beaver Valley so far this season.
It was also announced today that skilled defender Todd Bredo will be joining the club.
He brings some real size and skill says Coach Hladun
“He’s a Prince George player and played with the major midgets there last season. Todd’s a big kid – 6’3″ and 200lbs – so we’ve definitely added some size and skill on our back end this weekend.”
Bredo will join fellow ex-Cougars Kolten Carpenter and Alex Hanson
He had 10 goals, 32 points, and 87 penalty minutes in just 37 games last season for the Cougs.
After shoring up their shorthanded blueline, the 100Â Mile House Wranglers added to their last line of defense with a goaltender.
Eighteen-year-old Adam Derochie is a Wrangler says Coach Hladun
“We’ve committed to Adam Derochie who will be our backup goaltender. He’s a pretty sound, skilled goalie who will make a great tandem with Zane Steeves, so I really feel like we’ve shored up the back end well.”
The Maple Ridge native played in 4 games this season with the Campbell River Storm, winning 2 and posting a .914 save percentage.
Not content adding to defense and goaltending, the 100 Mile House Wranglers added a veteran performer from last year’s club.
It’s uncertain whether Michael Lynch will get into the lineup tomorrow versus Osoyoos says Coach Duner
“We’ve got a returning veteran. Michael Lynch is showing up tonight – don’t know if he’s playing tomorrow but it’s really nice to be able to add a gritty, fast, skilled forward like Michael.”
The 5’10” native of Smithers scored 14 goals and 35 points in 49 games last season before adding 9 goals and 13 points in 11 playoff matches.
