The Williams Lake Stampede Association is planning to expand its campground into the men’s fastball diamond in Stampede Park.
The association is planning to add 40 more full-service camping spots in the ball field, which has previously been used as overflow during the Stampede weekend.
The upgrade would give the park a total of 96 stalls, making it one of the Cariboo’s largest campgrounds. It has the potential to double the Williams Lake Stampede Associations’ annual income.
It is also estimated that the project could create an additional 1.5 seasonal employment opportunities for the Association.
It will cost $800,000 or $20,000 per site for sewer, water, electrical, Wi-Fi infrastructure and landscaping costs.
