The current President of the Williams Lake and District Chamber of Commerce has announced his intention to run for City Council.
Jason Ryll, made the announcement this afternoon and says he feels it is time for him to take part in the upcoming election.
“I have been sitting on the sideline watching municipal politics for many years… I’m just tired of sitting on the sidelines feeling a feeling bit uninvolved. I have the motivation to want to get involved. I have a long-term vision for the City.”
Ryll says with his experience, he will be able to continue being a voice of business should he be elected.
“With my involvement with the chamber, I’ve done everything I can to try and make sure that business has the voice that they need when it comes to liaising with provincial governments, with municipal governments. Â Now it’s my motivation to be that business voice at the council table.”
Ryll says one of his platform priorities is sustainable economic growth in Williams Lake.
The 2014 Local Government Election will take place on Nov. 15.
