Tory MP Disputes Healthcare Spending Claims of Union, Opposition

With both opposition parties and healthcare worker unions speaking out about the federal government’s health spending, the MP for Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo wants to set the record straight

Cathy McLeod disputes the notion that the government has seen funding drop off after allowing the Health Care Accord to elapse

McLeod says that the Tory’s platform for healthcare is intended to provide stabilized funding that provinces can know and plan for certain dollar amounts

The former nurse is quick to defend the Tory’s health care record, stating that health care transfers will reach forty-billion dollars by twenty-twenty, marking the highest transfer of health care dollars in history.

She says that the government’s health care plan sees at least a three-percent increase in transfer payments each year, potentially even more depending on G-D-P and represents the largest transfer payments in history.
