A fire at the Dairy Fields in Williams Lake was quickly extinguished Friday afternoon.
Fire Chief Erick Peterson says the department received multiple phone calls from nearby residents who noticed smoke in the area.
“When we arrived on scene we quickly found a fire approximately 20 by 40 that we were able to knock down and extinguish quite quickly,” he says.
“We had 13 members on scene.”
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Fire Department and the Williams Lake RCMP.
“It’s always a concern,” says Peterson.
“We just make sure that if we are out and about and we notice smoke or anything to notify the Fire Department right away so that we can respond promptly.”
