It was everything they hoped for and expected in spite of the weather over the weekend.
The 92nd Annual Williams Lake Stampede once again brought rodeo fans from all over the Cariboo and beyond as Stampede President Tim Rolph explains.
“Crowds were large, we don’t have all the attendance numbers in yet but we’re gonna be close to sixteen thousand people. We had every kind of weather you could imagine, action in the arena was great, no injuries of any major kind to competitors or animals”.
The rain that fell over the Williams Lake Stampede weekend couldn’t dampen the spirit of the competitors or animal athletes.
Even the infield stood up to the challenge mother nature presented all 4 days.
Williams Lake Stampede President Tim Rolph said that was in big part to the work of the ground crew.
“The arena held up really well-considering everything we had and that’s just compliment to our crew of guys we have who keep that ground as good as they possibly can for the competitors. We have a really dedicated group of people that mask sure we keep it in as good a shape as possible”.
Rolph said that Saturday’s rodeo performance was a sellout and Sunday’s was close to selling out.
For the rest of the performances on the Friday and Monday Rolph said attendance was solid for those as well.
