Williams Lake to Host 2019 NCLGA

The North Central Local Government Association’s 2019 AGM and Convention will be held in Williams Lake.

“It’s great,” says Mayor Walt Cobb.

“We had actually thought of applying for this coming year but with everything else that was happening at City Hall we decided to put it off for a year, but we were successful.”

“We’re looking forward to it. We’ll get a couple hundred people here for the convention and get our town buzzing again.”

Cobb anticipates that different facilities will be used for the event’s venue including the Gibraltar Room and the OV Convention Centre, and says that it will be a boon to the hotel industry.

The last time the NCLGA Convention/Convention was held in Williams Lake jointly with the Cariboo Regional District was in 2007.

It takes place this year in Fort Nelson.
