Strengthening local businesses and building up the economic scene in the Cariboo will be some of the tasks covered by the newly appointed Recovery Managers with the CRD.
MJ Cousins, the Recovery Manager for the 100 Mile area, had positive remarks from the consultation meeting in the Interlakes.
“It was very well attended, there was a lot of people there. The purpose and process of this is to hear from people, it is not to provide answers but for them to let us know what their concerns are.”
Cousins will also be attending future meetings in 100 Mile and 108 Mile.
She says once the CRD understands both the short and long term needs for the businesses, both the businesses and the CRD can come together collectively to made a plan moving forward.
Cousins encourages the public to attend the consultation meetings in their area and if you can’t make one, that she does do 1 on 1 consultations as well.
