The 100 Mile Wranglers new wildfire jerseys made their debut on the weekend and instantly became a fan favourite.
Head Coach Dale Hladun.
“I thought they were a hit. I thought those wildfire jerseys looked sharp. Even when we were standing there for O’ Canada I didn’t realize how sublimated in the shoulders, all the areas that were affected by the fires. So I’m reading all those communities and there’s quite a story right in those jerseys.”
Coach Hladun says the boys were proud and honoured to be wearing the new jerseys, in hopes of creating a feel good story from the tragedies of this past summer.
Only 44 jerseys were made and they will be sold in a silent auction at the end of October with proceeds going back to the community.
