100 Mile Man Raising Awareness for Organ Donation

A local man from 100 Mile House is helping spread the importance of being an organ donor.

Andrew Jones, who was born in 100 Mile, was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis as a baby. The disease worsened to the point where Jones had to move away from the Cariboo and undergo surgery for a double lung transplant.

Now Jones, along with his twin sister Anna and a couple friends from 100 Mile, will be participating in the Okanagan half marathon tomorrow to raise awareness about organ donation, where his friends and family will be taking turns pushing Andrew in a wheel chair through the race.

Donations can be made online at okanaganmarathon.ca

or

Register for organ donation at transplant.bc.ca
