Though the weather has been unseasonably warm, the road conditions have been far from ideal.
According to One Hundred Mile House R-C-M-P Friday was the worst day of the year, to-date, for accidents and road conditions.
The roads were bad enough Friday that it was difficult for emergency responders to stand on the highway and keep their feet.
Corporal Brian Lam says Friday was just an example of how deceptive road conditions can be, ”it was deceiving because you look at it and it looks grey, so you don’t think it is ice covered, but it was a skating rink – it was really slippery.”
Conditions south of town around Lone Butte were reportedly dicey last night and may still be unfavourable.
