A memorial service to honor Forest Grove Fire Chief Bob Felker will be held this Saturday, exactly 34-years from the day he joined the fire service.
Prior to the memorial at the Forest Grove Community Hall a procession of Fire and First Responder vehicles will drive from 100 Mile House to Forest Grove.
CRD Area H Director Margo Wagner knew Chief Felker very well.
“He spent, I’m going to say ninety per cent of his free time doing something with the Fire Department. It was his passion, he was a great leader, he was well respected among his peers and certainly the other fire fighters. Everybody knew Bob”
An application to recognizes Bob’s passing as a line of duty death by the Canadian Fallen Firefighter’s Foundation based on length of service and type of cancer he suffered from was submitted by the Cariboo Regional District.
Bob Felker was diagnosed with cancer in October of 2015 and passed away September 13th 2016.
