Someone you know, maybe even yourself may wind up in jail for a worthy cause.
This wednesday the Williams Lake RCMP will be holding their 6th Annual Cops for Cancer Jail in Bail Fundraiser at Spirit Square.
It will be the first time for Constable Andrew Waters who explains how it all works.
“About 35 businesses have signed up to take part. One of their employees is going to get arrested, they don’t know they’re going to get arrested then they’re going to be put in jail. They’re going to have to fundraise their bail amount which is pre-set by their company and once they reach their bail amount they will be released”.
In addition to raising funds through the bail money, the Rotary club of Williams Lake will also be holding a barbecue.
All money raised goes to the Canadian Cancer Society, Pediatric Cancer Research and Camp Good Times
