A Quebec Bio Intensive farmer recently handed out two, five thousand dollar awards to help farmers launch their own small scale farming operation.
The two contest winners were from France and Williams Lake.
Brianna Van De Wijngaard is the Owner/Operator of Puddle Produce Urban Farms who submitted a video entry and won based on what the people of the Cariboo are known for.
“They definitely saw that was lots of community support in Williams Lake for Puddle Produce and for local food production so that was part of the reason why we were chosen”.
Wijngaard says she was one of three finalists from Canada that included a farm from just outside Vancouver and the other from Quebec.
