With a new school year starting tomorrow, the RCMP would like to remind Cariboo drivers to be extra careful.
Not only are the students getting back into a routine, motorists should be as well according to Unit Commander of Quesnel RCMP Traffic Kurt Banse
“They really have to get back into slowing down and observing the proper speed limit especially when there are children on the highway. Obviously it’s one of those things we get used to though out the summer, travelling through school zones at a regular speed which would be 50 in most municipalities but now they have to be concerned with getting down to that average 30 kilometre an hour speed limit through most school zones”.
Banse says police will have a few more vehicles in school zones as a reminder to the public to slow down.
