cariboo fire centre reminds campers to be careful with fire this weekend

With it being the last long weekend of the summer many Cariboo residents will be heading to the backcountry for one last camping trip.

Even though it has been cool and wet the last few days, Fire Information Officer Natasha Broznitsky says you should still be careful with your campfire.

“The fire danger rating is currently low to moderate thoughout the Cariboo Fire Centre with the exception of pockets of high fire danger rating in the Alexis Creek and Riske Creek areas. A map of the current fire danger rating as well as information on current wild fire activity and open fire restrictions across the Province can be found at bc wild fire dot ca”.

Broznitsky reminds the public that if you see any wildfires, abandoned camp fire or open burning violation to call 1-800-663-5555 or star 5555 on their cell phone.
