Cathy McLeod, MP for the Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo cautioned property owners today regarding the dangerous implications of new medical marijuana regulations.
McLeod says the new regulations do nothing to protect property owners.
“New regulations brought in by the Liberal Government provides no protection to landlords, if the landlord rents to someone who has a permit or licence for medical marijuana they can have a grow-op in their home and nothing can be done about it.”
McLeod adds that in 2014 BC applicants grew close to 1.7 million indoor plants and with these new regulations these numbers are set to grow exponentially.
She is looking into any options that might be available to help fix this problem.
