Yesterday the BC Government distributed 47 Project Development grants to 30 local governments from around the Province, two of which were from the Cariboo.
The purpose of these grants is to help small communities develop projects to diversify and strengthen their economies as Cariboo Chilcotin Liberal M-L-A Donna Barnett explains.
“There are to do plans, to show how you can economically do a project, and therefore when it comes to applying for funding, from either rural development dividend, or the Government supported N-D-I, or wherever, you will have a business plan that will show how viable your proposal is”.
The two Cariboo recipients of these project development grants of up to ten thousand dollars each were the Cariboo Regional District and the Yunesit’in Government.
