crd issues boil water notice for lac la hache

A boil water notice has been issued for users of the Lac La Hache Water System.

Chairman of the Cariboo Regional District Al Richmond explains the reason for the notice and what’s being done.

“The levels of bacteria detected are very low but they are an indicator of something has gotten into the system. So staff yesterday immediately moved to chlorinate the system and moved towards looking to try and find the source of contamination. We have completed the chlorination, we’ve done the boil water advisory, staff will also be taking notice door to door today so that, about 360 people connected to the water system, are all aware”.

All users of the Lac La Hache water system are asked to boil water for a minimum of one minute before drinking, cooking, washing dishes, brushing teeth and watering animals.
