Not Guilty of Assault on 100 Mile House Mountie

A woman who attacked a 100 Mile House Mountie as well as a Kamloops psychiatric nurse has been found not criminally responsible for the two incidents by way of mental disorder.

Shaina Leigh Inkster was in Kamloops provincial court on Wednesday and admitted to the assaults which happened on March 30 in 100 mile house and April 1st at Royal Inland Hospital.

Inkster was granted bail on April 20th and proceeded to undergo a court- ordered psychiatric review in which doctors determined she could not be held criminally responsible for the assaults due to her mental disorder.

Judge Chris Cleaveley of the Kamloops provincial court accepted the doctor’s findings and absolved Inkster of criminal responsibility and she will now be dealt with by the BC review board.
