After an increase of collisions with wildlife the 100 Mile House RCMP would like to remind motorists to be mindful of their surroundings while driving.
Cpl. Brian Lamb says they responded to 3 separate incidents on June 30th alone on HWY 97 between 90 mile and 108 mile ranch.
“Nobody was hurt but in a couple of the accidents there was significant damages to the vehicle to the point where they were even written off.”
Lamb says being aware of the wildlife signs on the HWY, following the speed limits, and keeping an eye on the ditch lines which is typically where deer and other animals will enter the roadway from can help to avoid collisions.
