Slash Pile Extinguished by 100 Mile Fire Rescue

A recent complaint of a slash pile burning on Canim Hendrix Lake Road was responded to by 100 Mile House Fire Rescue.

Fire Chief Roger Hollander says they arrived on scene June.27 at 7pm to see the slash pile threatening nearby trees and brush due to poor location and strong winds, and the fire was immediately extinguished.

Hollander also has a reminder for the public who are planning to have any type of fires on their property.

“We would like to remind the public that although category 2 fires are currently permitted in the area that precautions still need to be taken such as not burning during windy conditions, making sure that you have sufficient water and people on site as well as being informed as to the current restrictions in place for the area you are burning.”

Information about current burning conditions can be found at bcwildfire.ca or 100milefire.com
