A special event to help youth at risk in Williams Lake and area is planned for this Saturday night.
Sarah Jackman is the Executive Director of the Punky Lake Wilderness Camp Society and she explains how the Bids to Help Kids fundraiser came about.
“It’s an idea I had floating around in my head for awhile. Through the Work to Give Program we’ve received some really beautiful art pieces from some of the offenders working on the project. So I’ve been setting some of them aside with the idea to hold a fundraiser for more sports, recreation, culture, arts programs things like that”.
Jackman says in addition to the Aboriginal Art that will be up for bid she has also received donated items from Williams Lake business’s.
Proceeds from Bids to Help Kids go to provide positive programming for youth at risk and will be held this Saturday night in the Pioneer Room at Signal Point gaming in Williams Lake
