Cougars Kill Goat in Forest Grove

A mother cougar and her 2 cubs are to blame for the death of a goat Tuesday morning on Wilcox Road in the Forest Grove area.

Conservation officer in 100 Mile House Colin Kravontka recommends that people in the area keep a closer eye on their livestock.

“So I mean if you have smaller animals like goats, sheep, miniature horses, and things to that effect, even llamas and alpacas you might want to think about maybe locking them up at night or keeping them in their corrals where they are visible.”

Kravontka says the 2 cubs have been captured and will be destroyed while the mother cougar remains unaccounted for.

He also wants to remind the public to report any sightings or attacks to the conservation office RAPP line at 1-877-952-7277.
