The South Cariboo Regional Airport has received a generous donation of a new runway sweeper on behalf of the Kamloops Airport Authority Society.
Mayor of 100 Mile House Mitch Campsall says the sweeper is important to keeping the runway clear for the abundance of medevac flights.
“We’ll be able to use it a lot more and again keep that airport open for especially medevacs, but we also have other people coming in their at the 108 airport so it will be a vital piece of equipment for us.”
The KAAS (Kamloops Airport Authority Society) recently purchased 2 new runway sweepers allowing them to donate their old sweeper to the Cariboo Regional District.
In a media release, Peter Milobar of the Kamloops Airport Authority Society said, “We heard that South Cariboo Regional Airport was in need of one and we are pleased to support our northern neighbor with a donation of one of our retired sweepers.”
