Fire destroyed a home in the South Hills area early Sunday (May 1) morning.
Sylvain Gauthier, Fire Chief of the Quesnel Volunteer Fire Department, says they were called out to a fully involved structure fire on Grosz Road at around 3-30.
Gauthier says they received several 9-1-1 calls and nearby residents reported hearing several explosions prior to the fire.
He says what caused those explosions is now part of their investigation.
Gautheir says the owner of the house is working up north so no one was home at the time so there were no injuries.
He says the house, the garage and two vehicles were destroyed by the blaze.
The cause of the fire also remains under investigation.
