The District of 100 Mile House continues the redevelopment of their 3 municipal wells.
The project which began in February was expected to have all 3 wells completed and in service before the summer peak season.
However, the District said after some complications, Well #5 is now complete and is being monitored prior to beginning the redevelopment of Well #4 and Well #6 on May 20.
It is in the best interest of the community, the District said, that Well #5 is fully operational with no risk of complications before Well #4 and Well #6 are completed.
As of May first, the District will be initiating standard watering restrictions.
During the next stage of the well development, May 20 to June 7, additional restrictions prohibiting outdoor sprinkling will be put in place.
In a release from the District Mayor Maureen Pinkney stated “We appreciate the community’s patience, cooperation and efforts towards water conservation during this essential project. The goal of the redevelopment is to ensure that our water supply remains reliable, and capable of meeting future demand.”
