BC Wildfire crews continue to be on site of a wildfire that was discovered yesterday (April 17) in the South Cariboo.
Fire Information Officer with the Cariboo Fire Centre, Madison Dahl said it’s located approximately 16 kilometres East of 100 Mile House on the South East side of Horse Lake.
“The wildfire did not grow overnight, it is 35 hectares in size and is now being held. BC Hydro will be on site today (Thursday) and BC Wildfire Service crews will remain on site for several days to mop up and patrol the wildfire.”
Dahl said smoke from this wildfire is visible to commuters on Horse Lake Road and traffic control will be on site to ensure the safety of the public and firefighters and short delays may occur.
