A tree was the cause of a long power outage in Quesnel last night [Thursday].
According to BC Hydro, the tree fell due to the strong gusts of wind in the town. The tree fell just west of the Quesnel – Hydraulic Rd, near Gook Rd.
BC Hydro and the Quesnel Fire Department were on the scene to clear the tree, fix the power lines, and direct traffic.
Hydro says the power outage lasted nearly five hours, going out around 5:30 p.m., and wasn’t restored until after 10:30 p.m.
