Heavy Snow & Melting Conditions Contributed To Several Collisions In 100 Mile House

Even though the calendar said it was Spring, it was anything but Springlike conditions for some South Cariboo motorists.

100 Mile House RCMP Sargeant Brian Lamb said on the evening of March 27 and morning of March 28, Police responded to five separate vehicle collisions on Highway 97 between the areas of 103 Mile House and North of Lac La Hache.

A sudden weather event which included heavy snowfall and melting conditions were contributing factors,” Lamb said, “Three of those incidents involved single vehicles going off the road and the other involved a tractor trailer that had lost control and hit a parked occupied vehicle at a pull out near Prime Country Meats. The tractor trailer did not stop at the scene”.

Lamb said injuries were reported in one incident that were not believed to be serious at the time of the report.
