Drug And Illegal Cigarettes Seized By Williams Lake RCMP

A vehicle stop in the Lake City led to a significant drug and illegal cigarette seizure.

On Friday March 7, 2025, Williams Lake RCMP was conducting proactive patrols in the city when they observed a vehicle associated to drug trafficking in the area.

North District Corporal Madonna Saunderson stated in a release “Police observed the vehicle pulling into the parking lot of a local fast food establishment when they see another vehicle pull into the same parking lot. Both drivers interact with each other and from the actions of both driver’s police simultaneously stop both vehicles at different locations.”

Police detained both drivers for a drug investigation, one was later released on scene without process while the other driver and passenger in the other vehicle were arrested for drug possession.

“A search incidental to the arrest resulted in police locating meth/crack pipes, suspected fentanyl, cocaine, crystal meth, and GHB, along with items commonly seen in drug trafficking and a sum of Canadian currency. Both were later released pending further investigation,” Saunderson stated.

As the investigation continued, police obtained evidence to support a search warrant for a residence on Lakeside Drive where police seized over 100 grams of suspected cocaine, an SKS loaded rifle with a prohibited magazine, numerous loaded pistol mags, suspected GHB, bulk ammunition, and 298 cartons of illicit cigarettes.

The investigation is ongoing.
