January And February Callouts Down From Last Year For The Williams Lake Fire Department

It was a busy start to the year for members of the Williams Lake Fire Department.

Assistant Fire Chief Cory Boyd says in the first two months they responded to a total of 71 calls for service compared to 90 calls for the same time last year.

He says this year in January they had 38 and 33 in February, in 2024 there were 44 call outs in January and 46 in February.

Boyd says in the first two months last year the Williams Lake Fire Department had far more calls related to prescribed burning and unauthorized fires in town.

He says it looks like those types of calls have reduced significantly so far.
