The lowest municipal taxes in the Cariboo are in 100 Mile House, followed by Quesnel and then Williams Lake.
Kari Bolton, the Director of Finance with the City of Quesnel, presented City Council with a comparison at this week’s meeting.
She said the municipal taxes on the average home was $1,311 dollars in 2024.
By comparison, she said municipal taxes on the average home in Williams Lake were $2,004 last year.
Utility charges and parcel taxes were a bit higher in Quesnel, $837 compared to 681 in the Lake City.
100 Mile House has low municipal taxes at 943 dollars for the average home, but utility fees and parcel taxes are higher at $1,050.
Bolton’s report shows that if you combine the two, Quesnel comes in at $2,148, Williams Lake is at $2,685, and the average homeowner in 100 Mile House pays $1,993.
