BC SPCA’s Calendar Contest Starts Next Week

Do you think your pet has what it takes to be in the next BC SPCA calendar?

The Animal Protection Society’s annual calendar contest starts on January 27 and runs until February 15 at 8 pm.

“Anyone can enter, you just have to submit a photo of your pets to create an entry,” says Alina Wilons, Senior Officer of digital giving at the SPCA. “Share with anyone you know and ask them to donate to the BC SPCA to support your pet. It is pretty stiff competition; however, we have expanded the number of prizes this year.”

Every dollar donated counts as one vote for a pet. Hill’s Nutrition, one of the calendar contest’s partners, will give 25 bonus votes to any pets submitted with a $25 donation.

Wilson says in addition to the main 12 prize spots given to the top six winners of each of the contest categories, this year there are an additional 12 prizes in each category.

“There’s a variety of ways to get into the calendar, even if you’re not the very top fundraiser. Your animal can be features in a day spot. There are also greeting card spots available to win.”

The calendar contest is one of the SPCA’s biggest fundraisers, Wilson says. The proceeds are “massive help” to the SCPA.

“Last year, the contest raised over $190,000 through the contest. We’re very grateful for everyone who participates by entering their pet or by voting. It’s going to make the lives of animals better in B.C.”

To enter your pet in the contest, Wilson says visit bcspca.ca/calendar.
