UPDATE: Community Hall in Horsefly Issues Boil Water Notice

Updated on January 24:

The Community Hall in Horsefly has been cleared of its Boil Water Notice by Interior Health.

The notice was issued on January 10, after tests and inspections found traces of coliform bacteria in the well servicing the washrooms of the Community Hall.

Rob Birtles, Team Leader of Small Water Systems for Interior Health, says as of today, January 24, “as of this afternoon.”

“The Community Hall was on a boil notice due to positive total coliform counts, that’s an indicator organism that we use to determine whether there’s contamination within the water system… the recent samples have come back clear. The Boil Water Advisory [notice] has just been removed.”

Birtles says none of the resident houses in Horsefly were affected by the Notice. The Community Hall was the only building being monitored for contamination.
