Williams Lake RCMP conduct search warrant in Glendale area

There was a police presence at a house on 2nd Avenue North in Williams Lake earlier today. (Jan 7)

RCMP Sergeant Brad McKinnon confirms that they were at a residence in the Glendale area.

“What I can say is that the RCMP has an active police investigation ongoing. That investigation has resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a residence in the location of concern, and that there are no concerns at this time for public safety.”

McKinnon also confirms that this location is well known to them.

He says reports of a body being found are not accurate.

“No. I can confirm that there were no bodies. There are no concerns for public safety. There are a lot of reasons why police will enter a home. Sometimes it’s to effect an arrest. Sometimes it’s to search for evidence. It could be a combination of both, but what I can confirm is our community is safe and our hard working men and women of the RCMP are out doing their job to maintain that.”

McKinnon adds that should the situation progress and result in criminal charges, the RCMP will likely be in a position to release more information about this incident.
